It is strongly recommended to choose the same currency on Artfolio as the one used by your bank account, unless you have a specific commercial need. When the currency chosen on Artfolio is the same as the currency of your bank account, Stripe does not need to convert the funds before paying them out to you. This helps you avoid currency conversion fees on the seller side. This choice also makes your sales reports on Artfolio easier to read: payments received, Stripe fees and the net amount remain expressed in the same currency.
Artfolio activates Stripe's Adaptive Pricing option on payment pages. This option allows a buyer located in a country that does not use your currency to see and pay the amount in their own currency directly on the Stripe payment page. The price displayed to the buyer is then calculated by Stripe and already includes the conversion fees. Learn more about Adaptive Pricing.
Choosing a currency on Artfolio that is different from the currency of your bank account may be useful in a rarer case: if most of your clients use another currency than yours, and if you want to display your prices directly in that currency on your portfolio. In this case, Stripe will have to convert the payments into the currency of your bank account. Additional conversion fees may then apply, according to Stripe's current fees. In this case, these fees are your responsibility.
